Storytime with Nuna

I'm loving that Dahin can not only read, but LOVES to read. She asked me, "Mommy, have you noticed that I'm a bookworm." I have. She loves all books and getting her to read "just right books" (labels her teacher gives to books that are appropriate for her reading level) is a bit of a challenge. She still prefers the picture books to chapter books, but does enjoy reading the Ivy and Bean series as well as the Rainbow Fairy series of books. She just whips through those. I'm working on getting her to slow down a little and appreciate the content rather than focus on how many chapters she read in one night or how fast she got through a book. When she reads books for her brothers, she reads them like the librarian does at storytime at the libary or the person does at Barnes and Noble during storytime on Saturdays. When she is done reading the page, she holds the book up so her brothers can see. She actually makes her brothers do storytime; is pretty militant about it. Her brothers just sit patiently as she reads, although I notice some fidgeting and glancing through other books (see Oliver above). She makes them sit "on the mat" while she reads, which is really just a baby blanket spread on the floor.
Below, you can see her ordering Oliver to move back on the mat since he's wandered away. If she becomes a teacher one day, she'll be the 'scary teacher,' I'm pretty sure of it. If she notices they are not paying attention, she'll call them on it. "Hey, are you listening? What did I just read?" Scary....
