Asheba at the Market

We went to Farmers' Market on Saturday and we discovered that Asheba was set to play that day. I, personally, was very excited to see that he was performing. The kids and I love his Caribbean-inspired music. He does awesome versions of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "5 Little Monkeys," in addition to a bunch of songs about life on a tropical island and mango-picking season AND some Bob Marley ("Every little thing's gonna be alright...").The kids and I sat in the shade (it was in the '90s!--people think CAL is hot, but northern California is usually pretty chilly and the temps rarely exceed 75) and ate kettle corn and honey sticks while listening to him perform. After his first set, the kids got in line for autographs. Asheba brought some cards to give out to kids--kids love that kind of stuff! "On my topical island, it's a really fairyland. Sunshine and the sea breeze, children doin' as they please. La, la, la, la, la, la, la...."
