Walking Tashi

The kids spent the night at their halmoni's so we decided to take Tashi to Namsan for his first real walking experience.  He is still getting used to the leash and really likes to just go in whatever direction he wants to go.  Usually, that entails sniffing around and peeing and pooping randomly and liberally.  He likes to lead, which we have to gradually get him un-used to doing. We're slowly but surely training him to walk with us.  When we first got there, he was shivering and had this look like "are you kidding me?"  Jack carried him around for a little while, then unleashed him (yeah, that's right; I was not a happy camper) and he took off.  Luckily, he came back towards me when I called and I leashed him up and told him it was time to walk.

Tashi proceeded to look at me like I was insane.  "Uh, what?  You're not serious.  I have to walk with you?  Oh please."  But then Jack remembered he had his favorite squeaky bouncy toy and he threw it.  Tashi chased after it and he discovered it was fun to run down the track.  He did pretty well at staying with me, and seemed to have fun chasing the toy around.  We brought plenty of treats and 'good boy'ed like crazy.  His leash is retractable, so he was able to run around pretty freely after the toy, but we pulled it back in when people passed.  We also ran along side him, pulling in the leash and saying, "Heel; good boy."

After his first big boy day, he had a nice warm bath and passed out before we went to sleep--a first.
