Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

We didn't have a white Christmas, but one day later we had a light dusting, and two days later we woke up to a few inches on the ground.  Tashi, used to the light dusting, was a bit surprised by the magnitude of the snow fall--not massive, but for a first real snow this was big.  He hung out on the stairs for a few seconds to check it out and make sure he was ready to step into the white stuff.

He sniffed for a while, then stuck his whole little muzzle in the snow.  Following that, he was like, "this is awesome!" and started to run in the snow like a maniac.  The best part, I'm thinking, was when he discovered that he could kick up little snow balls as he ran and he chased those balls around like they were alive.  He didn't seem to be bothered by the cold at all; a bit surprising considering his obvious love of warmth and comfort.

Gotta love this:  Tashi's first snow nose (it was the first of many over the next few days).

Then, the kids discovered the snow.  Dahin's first stop: the recycling bin (yes, we still have not bought our kids a real sled, but at least it gets their creative juices going).
Our kids were not the only ones using the recyclables for snow fun.

Above, Ronan ascends the hill to do some sledding.  Below, the recyclable snow man.

The kids and their buddies had a great time sledding and pelting each other with snow.

The snow day proved a great way to expend some energy and enjoy the season. The Christmas lights are still burning at our home and on the community grounds, which makes the snow seem even more festive.  Below, Ronan and Tashi chill after an intense snow day.
